Introduction

ProtoLog ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

By using ProtoLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Required Information: Name (for personalization and app functionality)
  • Optional Information: Body weight, dosage unit preferences, health and medical information (e.g., compound/medication names, dosage amounts and frequencies, injection schedules and timing, half-life data, injection history and records)

Automatically Collected Information

  • Cloud backup data: Email address (via Google Sign-In), authentication tokens, device type and OS version, last sync timestamps
  • For app functionality: Push notification tokens, app preferences, theme and display settings

How We Use Your Information

  1. App Functionality: Track compound schedules, send reminders, calculate timing based on half-life, and display tracking information.
  2. Cloud Backup: Sync and store data securely across devices, restore information, and back up history for continuity of use.
  3. App Improvement: Understand usage, fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.

Health Information

ProtoLog is a health tracking application. We recognize the sensitive nature of health data and protect it by:

  • Storing all data securely in cloud storage linked to your account
  • Encrypting health data during transmission and storage
  • Never selling or sharing health information with third parties
  • Allowing you to request deletion of your data at any time

Data Storage and Security

Cloud Storage 

All user data is stored in Google Firebase/Firestore cloud services, secured with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Data is associated with your Google account for authentication and recovery. Local storage on devices may be used temporarily, but permanent storage is maintained in the cloud.

  • Encrypted transmission and encrypted storage
  • Secure authentication via Google Sign-In
  • Regular security updates
  • No plaintext storage of sensitive information

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

  1. With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize it.
  2. Service Providers: Google Firebase/Firestore (cloud storage/authentication) and Google Cloud Messaging (push notifications). Providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
  3. Legal Requirements: To comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights and safety.

  • Delete your account and all associated data

Children’s Privacy

ProtoLog is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If we inadvertently do, contact us immediately for removal.

Data Retention

  • Cloud data: Retained while your account is active
  • Deleted data: Permanently removed within 30 days of your request
  • Backup data: May persist in system backups for up to 90 days

ProtoLog is a tracking tool only and does not provide medical advice. It is not FDA approved or medically certified. Users must consult healthcare providers for medical guidance.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted in-app, the "Last Updated" date will change, and material updates will include in-app notifications.
